It’s no secret that there is a special place in my heart for a farm wedding and I have been looking forward to this particular wedding ALL SUMMER!!
Greg and Lydia were married at Greg’s family farm (Clear Meadow Farm), in what will soon be their very own backyard.
Backtracking a bit, I shot Greg’s brother Zach’s wedding 4 years ago so I should have remembered that the Rose family humbly downplays the amazingness that is their farm. Zach’s wife Rachael casually described their wedding as a backyard wedding with the ceremony taking place in a small gazebo outside of Greg’s grandparents home. What they didn’t mention was that the small gazebo was in the middle of a huge pond on the biggest most beautiful farm, surrounded by no less than 500 of their friends and family. It was pure amazingness.
This time around Lydia mentioned that her and Greg’s wedding was taking place in their backyard close to some sunflowers .. so I shouldn’t have been surprised at all when I pulled up to the most amazing plot of land surrounded on 3 sides by huge fields full of vibrant blooming sunflowers. I LOVE sunflowers and I’ve never been one to be able to hide my excitement so when I arrived early to scout out their location I may or may not have squealed, grabbed my camera and jumped out of my car before putting it in park. (At least there was no one around to confirm or deny whether or not that happened) :)
Not only did we have the most incredible weather and the most spectacular private venue but Lydia and Greg themselves are amazing as well. They are laid back, welcoming and in love with each other .. and don’t even get me started on how gorgeous they are.. seriously! .. i didn’t even know they made farmers this good looking until I met them and their families!
I could gush about this wedding forever (obviously!) but instead I’m just going to let you see for yourself.
Meet Lydia and Greg (and the wedding of my dreams)

I love that for the rest of their lives Greg and Lydia can look out from their beautiful house and look out on the very spot where they promised to love each other forever.

Blog title lyric from ‘International Harvestor’ by Craig Morgan .. I first heard this song at Rachael and Zach’s wedding 4 years ago .. everyone rocked out to it again at Lydia and Greg’s .. and I will forever think of the Rose family whenever I hear it .. listen to it here.
